There were not a whole lot of Tampicos imported into the U.S. (65ish?). This thread simply a collection of TB9 photos.

6PC sent me a note asking for photos. I figured why not just share with the world!

The paint scheme is standard Embry Riddle with an update. The previous owner had a partial paint job done that freshened up the leading edges, cowl, and removed the Embry Riddle markings. He also changed the N number to BR from ER.

A few from inside. I've installed proper cover plates since these were taken. They cover holes where there used to be an ADF and a VFR GPS.

We have the duct tape on the rudder as well! LOL

And on Brian's, you can tell it's a French made aircraft...

He and his Dad left the Flour-de-leis decal on the tail the prior owner had installed.

And Jim... do you find that you must employ lots of downward trim when you fly?

I've always thought that most French things had a very "nez en l'air" attitude.

Question
We have a "vent" of some sort running up the back of the middle of the rear seat.
It has an orange tube running down into the baggage area and disappears.
I don't know where this hose goes. During flight I have never been able to feel any air coming in that vent.

Do you have this and where/how does it work?

Here are a few shots of ours.

That is where it is supposed to come out, but mine has no flow also. We could really use the air in the summer!

Is that a Garmin 430 on top?

I used to fly (and instruct) in that plane. Nice to see she's still chugging along.

Was slow, but man was it comfortable!

And it could do a hell of a xwnd landing!

I have only flown a 172 and the TB9 and Xwinds are nothing in this thing.

The tail section of these planes are downright strange looking. I stumbled across a book that explained the reasoning.

We have some work in Dallas coming up soon. Any chance I could catch a ride? Never been in a Tampico.

let me know a week out and I will gladly take you up.
