Skylane Battery Box Replacement

Any leads on a battery box for a 1959 Cessna 182B? I am looking for a good used or new replacement box. Thanks.

Boy, that one sure sounds like a prime candidate for an owner produced part part if you're even minimally handy with sheet metal.

Fabrication is not my thing. Will need to find a good used one I guess since I haven't found any place that makes a replacement.

Saw your remark on Lamberts. Did you get hit with a roll?

Re Lambert's...no noggin' roll hit, it's just that I try to avoid lard, grease & butter slathered food...and eating with large groups of people whose average BMI is over 50

Also, I know where an old straight-tail is sitting...rotting away...I'll make a call to see if the box is salvageable and let you know.

I'd just put this battery in with an easily obtained field approval. They make a battery box exclusively for it and can be mounted on the firewall. It saves a lot of weight and will never leak. can be mounted upside down.

Battery is mounted aft of the luggage compartment. early 182s were as nose heavy as Pinnochio.
