Sirius XM weather worth it for new IFR Pilot?

XM still has some nice features. It has more bandwidth so high-res radar is available in all states, not just within 150 miles of your aircraft or so. While this seems like a long way and I have not found it to be an issue with bugsmashers, if you are going 300 knots in a turboprop it can be an issue.

Having WX on the ground is another. However I rarely find this to be an issue as ADS-B is usually pulling radar pictures by 1000 AGL, and I have a verizon simcard in my ipad so if I need weather on the ground I can just flip it out of airplane mode and pick up weather that way.

The new features coming to ADS-B weather are keeping me from making the switch. XM is $40/month and that adds up. Also our home field has an ADS-B tower on site, and I think that they are starting to add more at local airports, meaning you will have service on the ground.
