Got a call from the network monitoring & backup company this morning - told me their NOC could not reach my firm's servers. Since it all gets delivered on fiber, means phones down, too.


Hustled to office, got there and when one of my staffers said "everythings down ," I said "I know," as I headed to the server/telecom closet.

My Office Manager said, "Of course you knew, I emailed you about it."

So did you watch for backhoes and digging construction workers standing around a hole looking like they'd made a big mistake on your way to the office, too?

I've been the guy who walks inside and says "I know it's all down and I also know why and it won't be fixed for a while..." Haha.

In the good old days when I had AT&T DSL, my line went totally down one day.

I called the help line on my cell and got the recording: "Instead of waiting interminably on hold, why not use our web site to report your problem?"

Duh.
