Sim Training (P & P Mag)

There's value in simulator training, regardless of the level. The best simulators are full motion with good visuals; Class D sims that replicate the aircraft and it's responses so fully that one can become type rated in the aircraft without ever having actually climbed into the real thing.

I've been doing regular training in simulators of various kinds for many years. Who does the training and the quality and intensity of the training are deciding factors as to whether it's for you, or worth your time.

I did my instrument rating thru a 142 course. Most of the training was in the flight training device but they did use the aircraft as well. The checkride was 85% in the FTD, with only a few things in the airplane (circle to land, unusual attitude).
