Encourage my son to learn how to fly? He has expressed interest, but he can't ride a bike without fear of falling over. Nor can he manage a straight drive transmission in a car. He falls asleep when we are flying! And he cannot find landmarks I try to point out to him. Lost cause?

It depends on whether you like him or not.

Nope. Get him up for a Discovery flight with a CFI. Might be better if the CFI is someone who is not your friend or someone you don't know much about. Then butt out and see how your son reacts. You'd be surprised in the change in someone when they get the 'hook'.

I fall asleep evertime someone else is driving, I fall asleep when I fly commercial before the plane rotates, I can't find anything without a gps, and I was poop scared of banking when I started flying. If he really wants to do this, he will get over his fear. U had to hold a gun to my head to bank over 5 degrees, now I do 60 degree bank because it's fun and the fact that I can

Seriously?
o well, I can get back to the airport from my practice area and know the land marks.. but generally speaking even when driving in a city I need GPS. now if I was driving to seattle from here, I wont need one.. just follow the interstate

Novel idea. I tend to follow roads when I drive from place to place, too. I thought I was the only one...
