Was going to do some laps and landings at BJC yesterday but let work get in the way. Ain't gonna happen today. :(

Wed lunch bunch went to LaJunta for lunch. Cherokee at the shop for re-rigging. Curses foiled again.

Changed shops?
BZ doesn't have the tools to re-rig entire cherokee. In 3 months, everything he's done to fix the roll has made it worse than the original problem.

During the 90 minutes I was at KBJC today, the only flights I saw were two different three-engine Falcons taking off. It was coooooold and snowy.

Interesting to see how the light snow on the grass in-between the runways really emphasized the elevation differences. It's true - those ditches between the main runways are deep!

So, today, I popped out at lunch and marveled at the very interesting clouds hanging over the eastern mountains. Some of them looked distinctly like lenticulars.

Other than the mountain obscuration east, it was a nice pretty day.

But then I popped onto ADDS. SIGMET UNIFORM FOR SEVERE TURBULENCE BELOW 10000. No, no flying today....

This evening it's drizzly and the ceilings are marginal for home base... but NO ICE!!! (at least, nothing below 7-8 kft)

But it's a sure bet I'd need a ride home, even if the ceilings were a little higher, since the approach at home base is NA at night. :(

Not worth the hassle considering how miserable the weather is. And work calls, so it's settled.

I really miss the weather we had last fall. Lots of opportunities for actual without the risk of ice. This year, it's just been too cold with lots of ice most of the time, ever since last month.

Sorry to hear that. I stopped by the shop yesterday to discuss upcoming annual inspection and coordinate it with getting the interior refurbed.

Nothing more than light flying around northern CA today... there was a bunch of interesting low-level wind 3000-5000 up near the oregon border that made things interesting, but not terrible.

This was northern (well, central) CA. it looked pretty nice except for the weird clouds and the SIGMET.
