Ground portion of my flight review took maybe 15 seconds.

CFI: What's dimensions of Class D?
Me: 25x4.

CFI: When do you need mode c transponder?
Me: C and B.

CFI: and?
Me: above 10,000.

CFI: Why?
Me: Speeds are higher.

CFI: ok let's go fly.

He'll have to show at least 1hr of ground in the log book for the flight review.
Are your happy with that?

Ohhhhhhhhh...here comes Ron, I can smell it!

Why should he be happy or sad? It was years ago.

Your title is deceptive...not what I was expecting here....

Yeah, but...

Ed posted it in the "pilot training" forum and not the "mile high flyers" forum.

:goofy:

Greg is on it. As a CFI I don't need the hour of oral. I had talked to the CFI on the phone the day before and had mentioned I don't need the hr, and when I got there he asked, "why don't we need to do ground?" I said why, and he says, "well, let's do some anyway." My rapid fire responses caught him off guard, and after we were done he said "no one has ever answered that fast, you didn't even say 'uh' before answering."

That's what happens when you have no social life.

Tim, this was just on Thursday.

The no ground required is based upon your students pass rate right?

If you renew your CFI within 2 years of your flight review, regardless of how, you don't need the hour of ground.

I missed on th OP that you were a CFi getting a flight review.

I just did the same, but our ground session was a pre brief for the flight and who is PIC. No "questions". Flew all the Commercial Glider PTS maneuvers to PTS standards.
