For many years we've tried to fly on the longest day, and the shortest day of the year. When we lived in Iowa and Wisconsin, the "shortest day" flights were often done while wearing parkas, hats and gloves, or were scrubbed due to nasty weather.

Now? Not so much! :D It was pushing 80 here today!

Here's a few pix from today's flight. We didn't go far -- just up and around our beautful island. Anyone else go fly today, to celebrate the change of season? The days start getting longer from here on out! ;)

No too much rain up here yesterday, waiting for the runoff to quit. How about the first day of the new season, Hopefully going this morning.

We got all your cold crappy down here this year. So no dice.

How about the first full day of the new season, Hopefully going this morning.

I'm pretty sure that winter always starts with the Winter Solstice. This year's solstice occurred yesterday at 12:11 PM EST thus winter began yesterday at that same time.

This unless I'm having a complete case of cranial rectitus which has been known to happen. And seems to with more regularity as I age. :)

Did 2 hours in the Pawnee, 9 glider tows in 60+ F weather.
