Wishing a happy and healthy 5772 to everyone!:D

Aww -- can you let us gentiles in on the joke ... ?

Indeed. Good New Year to all. :)
The sign is Hebrew for Shana Tovah, Happy New Year or really good year in the more literal translation.

Today, at sunset, is Rosh Hashanah. The new year on the Jewish calendar. Adam remembered the year was gonna be 5772. Ted mentioned apples in honey. That is a tradition, to celebrate the sweetness of the new year. Lots of sweet treats. Lots of things made out of honey. Honey cake is one of the more popular.

Thanks, Scott. I knew about the holiday; just couldn't read the Hebrew sign and wondered if there was a connection to the airplane in the photo.

May all who celebrate it have a good and meaningful holiday.

Many years ago, while working for a major aerospace company, I was scheduled for a 10 day business trip. So I immediately called my rabbi (O6 Navy chaplain).

Me: Irv, I'm having a crisis of faith!
Irv: Why, what's going on?
Me: An all expense paid 1st class trip to Oz.
Irv: And the problem with that is?
Me: [whine] It's over the High Holy Days!!!!
Irv: So what's the problem? You'll find a shul there!

Fortunately, the trip got delayed a month.
