Says I can ship my stuff to OSH, gives this address to use for UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.:

Your Name
EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2008
Attendee
C/O GES
1001 W. Waukau Ave.
Oshkosh, WI 54901

Problem: FedEx complains about the 54901 zip for that address. They suggest:

1001 W WAUKAU AVE
OSHKOSH, WI 54902-9015

Further, they say that using the wrong zip could delay my package or result in non-delivery.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO!? EAA offices are closed now, but I'd like to get this underway tonight.

Here's a cool site that overlays ZIP code boundaries on Google maps.

It shows Wittman field is in the 54902 zip; 54901 is in NORTH Oshkosh, across the tributary that feeds into Lake Butte des Morts.

I'm leaning towards using 54902, FedEx' suggested zip.

I'd go with 54901. I queried the zip for 1001 W Waukau ave and got a response that suggested 54902 but it also said the address wasn't recognized. Another source shows 54901 being correct for downtown Oshkosh and 54902 being centered several miles further west. The airport appears to be in 54901, both Basler and the other FBO on the field list 54901 as their zip. You might try calling Basler at 920 236-7827, I'll bet they'd know and/or let you ship to them.

Thanks, Lance. Maybe the ZIP has changed??

The airport's own page suggests 54902 for their zip, and Google Maps shows that address as on the airport:

http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF8...51865&spn=0.0255,0.052185&t=h&z=14&iwloc=addr

If I try to search Google Maps for Waukau Ave, it is in the middle of the airport grounds, and even though I specify 54901 in the query, Google "corrects" it to 54902.

I'm confused!!

Troy, just ship your items to this address: OSHKOSH

Everyone knows where the greatest fly-in on earth is located right??? :D

Sorry I don't have better advice for you. I do know EAA headquarters uses 54902.

I think it will get there but maybe a day late if you choose wrong, and I note several of my last bills have an extra charge slipped it "Address Correction 10$" for exactly this issue :(
they will sometimes remove it if you squawk politely.

Based on the abundant information (at the time) pointing to the airport being in zip 54902, and the shipping address (street) being in the 54902 zip, and FedEx complaining if I picked anything other than 54902, I went with 54902 and sent the package on its way. I'll call EAA today and ask about it.... and I'll watch the tracking details carefully. :)

Just got off the phone with EAA Member Services in charge of shipping... they double checked, and said the site is WRONG, it should say 54902, "good catch!", and they'll get it fixed today.

Somewhere in Oshkosh there will be a giant lost & found collection....

Hey good thing you contacted them!

Well, Troy. Here's hopin' it makes it...since I'm sleeping in that tent. :) It looks like you made the right decision, though...sweet. I can't wait.

Well, they still haven't updated that shipping information page... they must be too busy enjoying the show. Maybe they can get Jesse to take over the website.

can we help you track your packages Troy or do you have access to that? Maybe that's what you are saying.
