I know it's off topic but...how's the job search going? Did I miss you finding the place you'll fit in at?
 
Looks interesting for the mid-south if the shear stuff "cooperates" tomorrow. Had some unstable air here pop off some stuff this evening.
 
While up here in peaceful VT, we're getting 2 inches of snow today. We already have enough to blanket the ground.
 
They just extended the Moderate area farther south - Heads up in Fort Worth/Denton guys!

(Also I'm about to take another interview by phone so I'll get back to you on the search)

I'm sitting in a hotel in OKC with my airplane at PWA. I picked the wrong time to tour the Midwest .Hoping my little airplane is still there in the morning,learning a bunch about weather and PDS storms.

This is the one I took last year for Skywarn. I can't find the basic storm spotter one but this one goes through a lot of good stuff.

 
5 years ago today that Tuscaloosa got hit by a huge tornado. Gods country was spared. War Damn Eagle!!

It was all bark and no bite. Fizzled after about 20 min here. Looked worse north.

Agreed. Much ado about nothing for most around here. Strong gust front in some spots (50-70mph winds) for a few minutes, then 30 minutes of t-storms, then gone.
 
Five years ago today was tornado-palooza here in Alabama. They are doing several radio and TV requiems. I took a couple of camera folks up the next day to get pictures.
 
Just flew my Diamond from KOZW to KRDU, the build ups I encountered were pretty intimidating.

The hail on April 12th did a lot of damage at my house. My Excursion has $3,800 in damage. The Camry I use as a daily driver was totaled by my insurance carrier. The house is getting a new roof. The corrugated FRP cover over my pool equipment and storage area has to be replaced, and the fence will be pressure washed and restained.

The damage totaled about $15,500. I have to pay around $4,500 in deductibles.

Not one of my better experiences.
 
These past three or four years have been some of the more ferocious when it comes to severe weather around DFW. I don't recall it ever being this bad during 70's 80's and 90's.
