Met with a former student of my wife's today (studied with her in highschool). He is now 24 years old. He is in a special six-year program at Stanford getting a Bachelor's and Master's at the same time in Aerospace Design (I think that's correct). Anyway, last summer he went to officer's training school for the Air Force. His pilot bid has also been accepted (though he doesn't know what type of piloting he will be doing). He is very proud that he will be serving his country soon. He would like to be involved with search and rescue. The Air Force will pay for his private (or at least 50 hours towards it.) He is also extreremly interested in GA flying and design.
When he comes back this December, we are going to go flying somewhere. We'll go anywhere he likes, completely on me. I've told him I support him 100%, and that I would help him in any way I can.
