Touchdown! Greaser!
Just a reminder, the full-day ground class in Denver (well, actually at Jeffco...er...Metro...whatever, it's BJC) is this coming Saturday. Considered one of the best high-altitude airport courses (no, this is not back country flying - that's at McCall's) it counts as a BFR when you combine it with the 5-6 hour flying portion (usually the next day).
You may think it's not cheap - but this isn't a 1-2 hr offering by the local flight school. This is all day and covers density altitude, emergencies, photography, weather, and so on. And that's just the ground!
The flight portion includes various passes, Leadville (and your certificate!), Glenwood Springs, Steamboat Springs and perhaps Aspen. Taught by folks who've been flying the mountains out here for decades.

The Cirrus Owners' (COPA) had a members-only course a couple weeks ago when COPA had its annual meeting in Colorado.
