And I should have added, that a club environment with members that are instructors, would almost certainly be the best bet for a 61 student to find instructors that are not just building time. I applaud any flight school that sets a high bar (under 61) when they aren't required to by law. As for professional flight instructors that are in it to teach, I tip my hat to you. Mentoring my own son, I have told him that doing as a good a job as he can teaching, including trying to improve himself professionally, will pay off in the long run no matter what role in aviation he finds himself ultimately.
