OK, so you take a bunch of desparate, hungry, scared refugees, you put them on an airplane, and you don't search them. Isn't that asking for more trouble than a, oh, say the risk of a businessperson concealing something in thier shoes?

San Antonio officials also have discovered and confiscated a number of weapons evacuees left behind on the planes rather than risk arrest once they descend the aircraft, Rios said.

These were commercial planes? Amazing.

I hope they hang to the weapons to match up with the with the bullet holes and slit throats in the bodies in that back room at the Superdome. At least they'll know which plane the killer(s) were on.

Some of them came in on commercial aircraft donated by the airlines, some came in on military transports.

I can see it now, some guy stands up waving a gun and starts making demands. The others rush him and bury him under a mound of humanity. Media quotes one of the pax explaning that he lead the charge because he hadn't had a warm shower in 6 days and no whiney ass punk was gonna' keep that from happening.
