Hello everyone,
I am looking for my half-brother Marvin. Unfortunately, I do not have much information, which has made the search very difficult so far. I truly hope that someone here may be able to help.
His name is Marvin. He was born in November or December 1966 in Germany, most likely at Hahn Air Force Base or in the surrounding area. Marvin’s Mother was the daughter of a Pilot who was stationed at Hahn Air Base at that time.
Our father was German and lived in the village of Hahn, directly next to the Air Base.

In 2024, after our father passed away, we did learn that Marvin is actually our half-brother.
Our father told us that Marvin became a pilot in the Air Force and afterward worked as a cargo pilot. He frequently flew cargo and military flights to Hahn Airport, possibly for Atlas Air.
Marvin and our father stayed in contact over the years. In 2019, Marvin was involved in a motorcycle accident.
We found a birthday card that Marvin sent to our father in 2018. The card lists members of Marvin’s family and is written partly in German and English.

I truly hope that someone may recognize Marvin or have any information that could help us. Should anyone recognize him based on this Informations, please feel free to inform him. This would mean a great deal to us.
What we have already tried:
• DNA tests (Ancestry and 23andMe) – no matches so far
• Contacted pilot forums
• Reached out to multiple Facebook groups related to Hahn Air Force Base

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this.

Do you want to volunteer surnames Marvin might be using? What was his mother's surname at the time?

Unfortunately, we don't have a last name for Marvin or his mother, which makes the search so difficult. We also couldn't find an envelope with an address or a full name. All we have are the first names of family members Marvin mentioned in the card, and the fact that he likely has maternal relatives in Germany. Our father kept it a secret and always referred to him as a 'good friend,' never as his son.

Is there some reason you think he wants to be found? This is potentially life-destroying.

Unless you're trolling, in which case that will become evident eventually.

I've done a lot of searches for people including helping my neighbor find his birth parents. If you PM me everything you've got I can take a stab at it in my spare time.

It wasn’t our brother who didn't want contact with the family, but our father. Why he kept it a secret, we don’t know. And we can’t ask him anymore. I didn't actually want to share so much personal detail, but perhaps it helps to understand the situation better.

My father was very young when Marvin was born; on top of that, they weren't married and her father was in the military. In those days, that could cause significant problems. I believe it did lead to trouble, because when my father returned from a training course, the entire family—including Marvin—had disappeared. My father was devastated. We know this because we found letters he had written. I think he simply didn't expect to ever see Marvin again, which is perhaps why he said nothing all those years.

However, they were in contact during the 2000s. Marvin even met him whenever he flew into Hahn Airport. Unfortunately, the contact between the two ended in 2020. My father’s health was declining, and he developed dementia. He was no longer able to write or use electronic devices, which is why their connection was lost. He talked about him so much, but he always referred to him as a friend. If we had known he was our brother, we certainly wouldn't be facing this problem today.

If he truly doesn't want any contact, we would have to accept that. But since we don’t even know if he knows we exist, I don't want to leave any stone unturned in trying to find him—even if not everyone can understand why.

I think I can't send private messages yet because I'm a new member. I couldn't find an option to start a chat

I think she doesn't yet have the post-count (and time-aboard?) to send DMs.
