Everybody, where do you know whre the tall guy is from? If you're a child of the 60's like I am you saw and heard him quite a lot.

Earl Scruggs?

I assume its Tiny Tim?

That's sure no Tiptoe through the tulips.

And I'm only 25, how gay is it that I know that (assuming I'm correct)? sigh.

BTW, that's some fancy playing.

Homer & Jethro?

Yep!

They were all over TV in my day. They were regulars on "The Beverly Hillbillies." They just told jokes and sang novelty songs. They have the country song with the world's longest title, "I Got Tears in My Ears from Lying on My Back While Crying Over You, Baby."

I remember them advertising Kelloggs Corn Flakes "Ohhhh That's Corny!" which also sponsored "The Beverly Hillbillies."

I don't remember them letting out the secret that Jethro was a great player. I guess Homer was, too.

Jethro lived in Evanston, IL. So did Steve Goodman.

Steve wrote "City of New Orleans."

Ah, it IS that Steve Goodman. I saw the name and wondered. Heard him on the Midnight Special on WFMT many times.

Steve Goodman, as in the one who wrote "She never even called me by my name" ?? Sang by David Allan Coe?

I was drunk the day my mom got out of prison, and I went to pick her up in the rain, but before I could get to the station in my pickup truck, she got ran over by damned ole train.

The Perfect Country and Western Song!

See the video of the actual story of how the song was writ:

Arlo also tells the story of how Steve played City of New Orleans for him. "It could be turrible, ya know?....."Tell ya what. You buy me a beer and you can do whatever you wat while I drink it." "It was one of the better beers I ever had."

The story's not on here but the song is:
