Now that I have your attention, I would like to bring to everyone's attention that October is breast cancer awareness month.

Most pilots are guys, and most guys like breasts and the women attached to them.

Trust me this conversation will get better and have meaning.

As men we need to let our women ( friends, mothers, wives, sisters, aunts, grandmas, ect.) know how import mammograms are. Digital mammograms! And how important early detection is.

One in 7 women get breast cancer. One in 100 men get it also.

Save the hooters! And let the women in your life know breast cancer can be detected early and dealt with effectively so they can live a healthy long life.

I hope this message gets everyone thinking of a way to talk to your women. :dunno:

Thanks for including the guys. Guys have gotten breast cancer...you guys have the same tissue as we do in that area. One of my classmates did a whole presentation about save the ta-ta's and he meant the manly ones. :)

I have a good Oshkosh buddy that got breast cancer. It was funny at the time, until we realized it had spread. He is okay now, thank goodness.

Save the tata's!

Next weekend I have committed to eating a pink tutu if we can raise $1,000 for BC research. Been doing the walk ever since my wife came down with BC. She is fine now, but we have made BC our cause. Please make it yours. ;)

If we make $1,000 in donations I will post a picture of me n a pink tutu.

Oh man, I'm glad your wife made it through that.

But I do look forward to seeing you eat a pink tutu!!

(I'll join you)

Thanks! She is fine, completely cancer free. We caught it so early due to the digital mammogram that we only needed surgery and reconstruction. She looks great, great attitude. Amazing she puts up with a boob like me.

Due to the enhanced technology of the digital mammogram they were able to detect tumors the size of a grain of salt. Had she not had the mammogram and let them grow it would have been 2-3 years before they grew to the size where she could have felt them in a self exam, and we would have had to do chemo & radiation.

I want to say we were lucky, but luck had nothing to do with it. Early detection was everything. Even the DR's were amazed how early they caught it.

Talk to the women in yur life.

Save the tata's!

It's always more fun if you have your partner do your monthly self exam. Many partners are more familiar with their partners breasts than many women are. An idea I heard from an NP in a practice three decades ago. She actively pitched it to married and long term couples because in her experience it caught more lumps sooner than monthly self-exam. And many women found it less uncomfortable.

How much do you want to collect in donations to NOT post a picture of you in a pink tutu? :hairraise:
