I see strong winds...is that an eddy formed (at least partially) by the peculiarity of the southern coast?

Look at the isobar spread...the whole southern half of the state is digging out from what I hope is the last significant snowfall of the season, set snowfall records in Anchorage and a couple of other places.

My bro-in-law just finished his first month at Ft. Richardson in Anchorage as of this past weekend. Talking to him today he was talking about shoveling 2 ft of snow out of his driveway. I said "Dude, you're in Alaska. What do you expect!?"
