Santa Rosa, New Mexico stop over night

Annual trek west bound trip to Pagosa Springs, Colorado mid August. Looking for any reports on Santa Rosa, New Mexico (KSXU). Tired of the paint shaker beating that really ramps up midday. Santa Rosa is a midway/midday stop and fueling option. Several motels within 2 miles of the airport. Calling the airport number and motels is next on my list. Thanks

Consider Santa Fe instead; just a bit further and waaaaay better. World class cuisine. Check out Paper Dosa or Jambo cafe. There are many other great options. Walking around the old town is incredible.

....and if you do, tell ground you are going to the SS pumps; they are just to the northeast of Atlantic, (the pumps are Sig pumps) then taxi past Atlantic to park overnight at Sig - to save a little $.
