I'll be working in San Diego for several weeks starting the 20th... anybody have recommendations for Cessna rentals and fun places to fly to?
I also saw that there is a school at Brown that does tailwheel checkouts in a Champ; if anyone has more info. on that also, I'd 'preciate it.

I've flown out there a few times, and I rent from Ken at Rison Aviation at KSEE (Gillespee Field in El Cajon). He has a c150 that I flew all over the danged place out there. Ken is a super nice guy, and a great CFI. The 150 is pretty inexpensive. He also has an Archer. It's a pretty small flight school, so there's not a lot to choose from, but you won't be disappointed if you talk to him.

Places to fly......Palm Springs, Vega$, Lake Havasu City, Catalina, Sedona. Those are all within a few hours flying.

Have fun. I love flying out there.

Aren't King Schools located out there too? Though I bet they're pretty expensive... But, you can fly 359ES, the Cessna featured in all of their training videos ;)
