Taking clubs next weekend, what are some cool courses to play that aren't just muni tracks. Will be alone so need somewhere I can get worked in. Thanks

Flying or driving? What part of town are you staying in?

The Republic is a nice course close to Stinson. The same company owns several other courses in the area but I am not familiar with them.

I've played the courses at the La Cantera and Hyatt Hill Country resorts. Both are nice. La Cantera is more picturesque in my opinion.

There's the new TPC San Antonio, but I have not played it.

In the center of town is The Quarry, a links style course. Also Brackenridge, although a muni, is a legacy 1920s design. Haven't played either.

Sorry I can't speak to availability. My guess is you could get on in the afternoons without too much trouble.

I'll be on the west side. Gonna wait on Quarry & TPC till I'm with some buddies. Older course with character is what I'm hoping for. Thanks

Ok, west side, I forgot about Golf Club of Texas. Newer course, a little rocky as I recall, but nice. If you want older with character, then consider going to the Alsatian in Castroville. Older with character in town would be Brackenridge Park, as I mentioned, and Riverside. Unfortunately Pecan Valley closed a few yrs ago.
