Pal and I flew to Salem Ohio (38D) yesterday. Actually got there after the restaurant closed, but they let us in anyway and fed us pie. Great place! They've got a bunch of big model airplanes and one real one hanging in the dining room. The airport and restaurant are family owned, and they own the farm next door where they raise all the critters you eat in the restaurant. The pilot shop next door also has local Amish crafty stuff for the spouses, and there is a bed and breakfast on premises. Tailwheel instruction at the field is available and inexpensive. The nicest people you would want to meet anywhere, this place is the best I've found in a long while.
