They basically assembled some readily available sim parts.

If you are good at figuring out software (I am not) you could build one yourself with a couple 22" touchscreens for the MFD/PFD and a larger monitor (or 3) for the "outside view"

Yes, you could...

I use it for Instrument Procedures, so the outside view isn't much of an issue for me. And the software is also easy, I just bought the SimAvio stuff from www.flythissim.com and re-arranged the layout some. The upper monitor is off a Gaming Laptop which runs X-Plane for the flight model and out the window. The lower ones are on a pair of video switches off my normal office desktop.(Acer T231h and Monoprice 17" touchscreens.) More photos: http://tppl.mobi/sim
