Sad story from Upstate NY

My dad's friend who owns a PA-28-180 sent me some emails letting pilots in the Malone area know they would be starting a search for the local DPE who had been missing since Sunday.

This morning he let me know the State Police located the crash site in the Adirondacks.

The pilot was the local DPE, CFI, and all around good guy. His passenger was a Cessna 140 owner that was going to start taking lessons.

It's a very small community up there and I am sure they are all taking this hard.

The Malone aviation community lost another good guy recently when Jeff Abbott, the local Budweiser distrbutor and P-210 owner, died unexpectedly.

He died in his sleep at age 48. He always talked about Malone, so I assumed that's where he kept it.
