I'll be down in the area for work from Monday night to early Thursday morning and I'm looking to see what the aviation community is like. If there isn't much happening, I'm also curious about general activities in the area.

Best case, I'd like to meet some local pilots or try something new like finding a place to fly a glider with worst case is to discover a new restaurant or historical site that I haven't seen yet.

What have you got?

If you are into Gyro, try the gyro place @ Lucky Tires and Wheels. They are open 6:30-9pm weekdays. You’ll thank me later

That sounds good. The best Gyro place I've ever been to was a Turkish place in Germany. Donner Kebabs with a beer for 5 Deutsche Marks....

Lots of good airports around there. My favorite is KAUN. Sac Executive is better and cheaper than Mather. Unless I was going somewhere definitely closer to Mather, I'd never go there.
