Am I right in thinking that S-Video carries video signal only?

I have some video on my pc that I don't want to burn to dvd because the conversion to dvd seems to be degrading the video quality. I can play the video on the pc thru the tv but I get no sound, and I think its just simply because s-vid is just that - just vid?

So I'm thinking I need to route audio to the tv separately?

True .,,, you need the audio too.

You are correct, sir. You will find S-Video and audio cables, but its really just a SPDIF and S-Video in one cable. S-Video only carries the video.
