This new swiss LSA/RG is pretty impressive, numbers wise. It's very sleek and all carbon fiber with a 4' wide cockpit.

Yes the stats say 75% power gives you 160kts at 4.5gph!!!

Nice but NOT an LSA. Looks like only way to get it here would be as Experimental exhibition.

and if I'd have called it a damn ultralight y'all would of thought that's what I was talking about in US terms... So I used a US term for a US forum... Come on.

What I like about this plane the most is, they made the effort to make it fly slow as well as fast. Most kit builders, or race plane builders focus on speed, speed, speed and that's it. So the planes end up landing at near jet speeds.

I really like the thinking.

Now if they just make an adult sized one, that would be great. IO-390, bigger cabin and baggage space. Maybe call it Risen America... :D

Like the specs on it, looks pretty nice too. I'd buy one if I could afford it.

Well unless they get it Part 23 certified you won't be seeing it here so dream and drool all you want.

Do you visit Europe enough to keep a plane there? Because that's where you would have to fly it. You might get it through Experimental Exhibition here though.

Oh no, no, no... Part 23 is going to be revised any day now and we'll all get to have one!! Right??!! Right??... right? ...:(

Similar specs to the pipistrel virus. 150 kts on less than 5 gph and no gear to worry about. The rep tell you it needs to be experimental exhibition but they seem to expect you to repitch prop and fly off.

Sorry, thought it was implied that I was talking about if it was available in the U.S.

It's really sad how the Europeans are able to innovate in the field of small airplanes while America stagnates. IMO, this will cause the US to fall way behind in the aircraft industry. I believe that a thriving small airplane industry leads to a thriving big airplane industry.

Not here, major Defense Department contracts are viewed as the way to a thriving big airplane industry.

That is likely their view, but with the defense department buying less and less as well as a willingness to buy foreign products, it is IMO, a very short sighted view. However, that is traditional for American big business. :rolleyes2:

I really feels like Boeing, the only big airplane maker we have, is losing market share every year.

Short sighted indeed, Eisenhower warned us, we decided to flip him the bird, now it's all here in spades; "Too big to fail."

Risen is coming to the US as an Experimental Amateur build with builder assist. Siren will be the LSA model sister ship. Bob.
