Just heard about this.

(a) In general.—Not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Administrator shall revise section 91.119 of title 14, Code of Federal Regulations, to allow a properly qualified pilot operating an aircraft to conduct a go-around, an inspection pass, a practice approach, or a qualified instrument approach without regard to the minimum altitudes set forth in such section.

Aside from the strange Title, thoughts?

The Trent Palmer Act? I say that because of the FAA action against him.

I’m good with it.

Our public servants have bigger problems to solve that are locked up in politics. This one should pass (is it out of committee?) simply because it won’t be held hostage for votes in November.

The “ok to land in a residential neighborhood or school yard” act won’t pass.

". . . a qualified instrument approach without regard to the minimum altitudes . . . ." - Huh? As a wanna-be instrument pilot, that sounds like a death wish. Go below minimums on an approach??

Not referring to minimums, referring to 500' from people, objects etc. rule.
