RV-9, anybody have one?

So much for a "small engine" and "a bit slower than the others". ;) I am assuming your IO-360 is the 180 hp variant?
Or did you cram a 200 hp into it?

It’s only the lowly 180 hp! It climbs like a bat out of hell though. Today at max gross, 45 gallons in it, me, the wife, all our baggage we were climbing out at 1300fpm on 90% power. Held 1k all the way to level off at 8500.

Lovely looking RV! Tell us more about it. Did you build it? How long have you been flying it? Where have you taken it? More pics, like panel porn, that sort of thing? :D

Although the RVs have their detractors, it's not difficult to see why they have collectively become the best selling kitplane model series in history. And displaced the rows of foam & fibreglass EZs that used to be grazin' in the grass at OSH back in the 1980s and early 1990s.

I did build it, but had a great painter (John Stahr) and some help finishing fiberglass and panel (Chris Sands, built several aircraft). I have a placard on the panel that says "10-10-22", took 10 years, 10 months and 22 days to build. I put an O-360 in her. Attached is a photo of my partial panel. 4GB panel.JPG
