Hey Bruce,
I wonder if there has been, or is currently, any thought to easing some of the restrictions that go along with aviation medical certification. It seems that people who really want to fly, and especially those that make their career's in the air, have a very hard time getting themselves to visit the doctor's office for anything other than their aviation medical certificate. There are many medical problems that can be resolved if caught early enough. Unfortunately, some that are caught, must be disclosed to the FAA, and may cause grounding for a specific time period until the problem has been cleared. This can certainly cause financial strain on some, and in my mind could make for more unhealthy pilots since they are afraid of what may be found on a routine check-up. Perhaps this isn't the forum for this, but it's been on my mind for a number of years.
