Robert Hite passed

The first heroes of WW II. 79 men volunteered for a mission without knowing where they were going and not knowing if they would come back.

Robert L Hite from Odell, Tx, co-pilot on plane 16, "Bat Out Of Hell", spent 40 months as POW in China and Japan.

Job well done Mr. Hite. Rest well, you deserve it.

Indeed. Rest in peace.

I buried one a few years ago while in the honor guard. Awesome ceremony and talks

I think this is a wonderful gesture, maybe 60 years too late!:mad2: It would have been nice to honor these brave men while more of them were still alive. ;) It's hard to imagine a better group of men to receive Congressional medals! :D

They just announced the Doolittle Raiders will all receive congressional gold metals for their bravery in attacking Tokyo in the early days of WWII. All the metals will be on display in the Air Force museum.
