So my friend and I are both student pilots and transit enthusiasts. We were on a four hour bus ride and our phones were dead. We decided to play a game but which one? I made one up. I call it "Guess That Plane."
The game is simple, you give three to ten hints about what airplane you're thinking of and the other person has two minutes to guess it. Since there is no fun unless there is something to lose, we bet SD cards (we each had seven, each bet two) and a nice cold Coke once in Philly (teenage version of you buy me a beer). Here are a couple that were missed by my friend. Post your answers and no internet searching!
1. I am frequently called a cream filled spongecake ( I thought that that gave it away). I was killed by a flood. My twin is single and is my parent as well.
2. I am called Dash-something but I am not a twin. I can show your Decathlon how a real barrel roll is done, in fact I'll show it two! I am the father of an airplane that changed airline travel. My son's enemies are a Convair 880 and a Douglas aircraft that gave him a run for his money. His Douglas enemy had the same reputation as him, if not better. I got into better shape and joined the military but I was just full of gas. I am also known by a three digit name that adds up to 16 in order of least to greatest. (Very easy!)
3. I was fairly well behaved as a child. I was born with one leg offset a bit. I was also considered ugly by my friends but they grew to love me. I like going low and I love to bust stuff. I've been to the desert and I like playing in sandboxes. My family loves to bring the Thunder. You can call me Boss Hogg if you please. I only pledged my allegiance to the US. I will fight for this Republic.
4. My grandfather and I are practically twins. My dad was his twin and he and I could be as well. I have two brothers and a half brother. One brother is my twin, he joined the military. He's very popular and did a lot in his service. My other brother kind of looks like us but his nose is different. He was called "Bozo the Clown" in the late 40's thanks to his name being Bolo. My half brother looks just like my grandfather, dad, and twin brother. He's partially Russian and was 10x as "popular" as I was. In all I wasn't very well "known" but my siblings were. I am known through relation to them and I never went into the service, I just stayed out in civilian life. I am now available as a twin or triple turboprop. Put me on floats or ski's, I don't mind.
5. I am often forgotten. My family is well known in aviation. We still live in Kansas, I was born there. I like to lark around the skies, no real destination in mind. I can stay up here for about six hours anyway. My dad is a hawk. In his early days he and I could have passed for twins. To the careful observer the most noticeable different is our noses, mine is a bit bigger and has an odd bulge. I like to GO.
There were a total of 87 planes that we did. I got 29/30 of his only because he added a kitbuilt airplane that I know as an A-22 Foxbat and he knew as a Cape Town. He didn't get a single one of mine...even the 172. I only took the Coke, let him keep his 16GB of SD cards.
How easy were my five examples? Anyone have other aviation themed games?
