Homebuilders VW fans, and readers of the usenet group rec.aviation.homebuilt may know the writings of RS Hoover, also known as "Veeduber". According to a posting on his blog he passed away this past Friday. R.I.P.

Very sad. I really enjoyed his postings on Rec.aviation.homebuilt (up until when Comcast discontinued subscribing to Usenet), and followed his blog.

He was an excellent writer and a very knowledgable fellow who was enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge about aircraft construction techniques, volkswagen engines, and a host of other subjects that interested him.

He'll be missed.

This is indeed a loss. Bob is one of those guys who would give all and ask for nothing more than for you to be intelligent and thoughtful. A very pratical answer was always the best.
