Back before I ever started flying, I picked up an ‘odd’ hobby to some, which was competitive Rubik’s Cube speedsolving. Back in grade school a friend of ours left a Cube at my house and I took it as my life mission to figure out. I ended up taking it to the extreme and began attending speed solving competitions. Now, after several years of my cube collecting dust, I decided to take a peek at <https://www.worldcubeassociation.org/competitions> and found an upcoming tournament in Dallas GA at the end of May and I’ve got the urge to register for it (I’m too late for the one on the 2nd of February in Dunwoody).

Here’s an old photo from ‘09 at a competition in Alpharetta. I set my PR not long after this was taken of 13.83 seconds and I’m due to see what kind of damage I can do nowadays—I’m excited!

One of my nephews dabbles in that. He's an Honors student as South Carolina, and pretty serious about magic.

Chicks dig a dude who...........oh wait, no they don’t.

Um, good luck!

Ryan ain’t a noob......with the rubik’s cube!

My son (8) recently purchased a "new, improved" cube.

That thing is buttery smooth compared to the one I used to have.

The keychain cube? I used to have that one on my old key set.
No, this one: https://amzn.to/2CL2Imr
I found it on clearance at my local Walmart for like $2.50... I was never able to solve it before, but I've decided to get good at it. It's good for a road trip, places where I'm bored and don't want to look at a screen.
