Interesting. They scoop out the pickle so it is not much thicker than the pickle layer I might put on a sandwich.

Wow. I do like pickles that much. Now to see if I can get Leslie to fly to Philly for lunch some day. We might have to spend the night.

This is a fantastic idea. I'm going to have to try this myself.

I have been a pickle aficionado since I was a little kid. My parents used to take me and my brother to Guss' pickle shop (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guss'_Pickles) in the lower east side of NYC, and we'd pretend to be picking on each other and Guss would give us each a free pickle to get us to stop. The old location is gone, but the shop, under new ownership, lives on: http://www.gusspickle.com. My favs have always been half-sours.

I love me a good pickle...but I have been meaning to try that same thing but with a cucumber.
