KSDC, located along the Lake Ontario Shoreline 20 Miles east of Rochester, NY welcomes anyone who wants to reposition their plane due to the oncoming Hurricane Earl. Based on forecasts, KSDC will remain free of the storm.

We have room for about 50 aircraft, but ask that folks bring their own tie-down ropes. We do not charge tie-down fees, or landing fees, or ramp fees or overnight fees.

The airport phone number is 315-483-6011. My cell number is 585-314-2685.

Things to do:

Well, being that it's Labor Day weekend, there's things to do at Sodus Bay. A few miles west in Rochester is Sea Breeze.

There are Museums in Rochester, including:

Rochester Museum and Science Center http://www.rmsc.org/;
National Museum of Play http://www.museumofplay.org/
The Rochester Red Wings minor league baseball team is in town http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/schedule/index.jsp?sid=t534

There's shopping at the outlet mall down near I-90 http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=9

The finger lakes wine country begins just south of us http://www.fingerlakeswinecountry.com/

Harriet Tubman's house is in nearby Auburn http://www.harriethouse.org/

There is a dinner cruise boat on Canandaigua Lake http://www.steamboatlandingonline.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=11&Itemid=8

Canandaigua also has Roseland Park, an amusement park http://www.roselandwaterpark.com/

There's also miniature golf, charter fishing on lake ontario, mini go-carts,
and more within a few minutes' drive of the airport.

For a car, I recommend Enterprise in Webster, NY
http://www.enterprise.com/car_rental/deeplinkmap.do?gpbr=2902&bid=004&cnty=US

There are hotels in Webster (just a 20 minute ride from the airport) including Holiday Inn Express

Hampton Inn

Super8

There are a few B&B's in Sodus Point, including

The Carriage House

The Cliffs at Sodus Point

Silver Waters

That's just a start....

Well, Joe, it looks like Earle was more of an event for Long Island and Mass. than it was for the Jersey coast. How did things turn out for you?
