Hi,

In the middle of annual and worked hard to remove a 50 year old scat tube from the heat bar to the pilot vent on the top of the cowl. Getting the old green clamp off was really tough.

Now, is there a technique to install the new scat - I'm on my back with head pressed on the rudder pedals and it's hard to get both hands up there. Could the metal wire be used to sort of thread it on?

Any tips appreciated.

Try whatever you can dream up, it's a ***** kitty. Have fun, good luck and try not to pull loose any wires.

The wire in the scat gets in the way and isn't necessary in the short section where the hose goes over the tube. Pull out enough wire so that about an inch of tube is wireless, clip the wire off and curl the end inward so it won't puncture the tube, and slide the hose on no problem.
