For anyone who lives in the Pittsburgh area:

I've been looking around for a place to rent a cheap plane in the Pittsburgh area, preferably a 152 or something similar, but can't find anything that doesn't require a club commitment. I've looked at Rostraver, Rock, and Allegheny, and can't find much. Latrobe has a bit, but no prices were listed. If you know anything, please post. Thanks!

It looks like I will be in Pittsburgh at the end of April. I might be interested in renting.

Beaver County airport has rentals. KBVI. Warriors and 172's that's where I plan to go. I'm thinking of heading to Pittsburgh at the end of this month,

Rock had a 152 last I knew, and two 172s. What did you find when you went there?

I looked into them online--haven't actually visited. A 152 would be great, but I looked and Rock Airport is currently being auctioned off due to foreclosure.

If you or John need a safety pilot... :wink2:

Armstrong Aviation -- they don't have a website. I don't know if the foreclosure is affecting them but that has been the story for several years and they were still there last I checked. A POA member, Kross was learning to fly there.

Zelionople has a club with 152's but you have to be a member. Butler county has a 150 for rent. Flys often with a guy who does stop n gos all the time but you should be able to schedule it.

It would be end of April, maybe into early May. I may need to go to Allenwood in a couple of weeks, but I would fly into Philly, probably for that. Are you around at the end of April?

Perhaps, depending on the weekend... I've got a couple of fishing tournaments on the weekends, but all of my Thursdays and most of my Tuesdays I have off.

I was really looking into the Zelionople club; not a bad deal and I'll be there for the next 3 years, so the $500 initiation would be worth it. I think that's what I'm going to end up doing.
