Just signed up for renters insurance through AOPA. Hope I did the right thing.

I bought PI/PD of 50k each person / 500k each occurrence + 5k aircraft damage (club's deductible is 2k). Total cost $209 /12 months.

I hate buying insurance. Spending hard earned money for something you hope you never have to use. grrrr.

Has anyone ever collected an insurance settlement coming from their renter's insurance?

I carry Avemco, $50K aircraft coverage, $100k per person. $1M total liability.
I have a few more assets to protect. Yes the Flight School has a $5K deductible.

The most important thing you buy with such policies is a high quality legal defense without further expense, and sometimes that alone is enough.

Can I ask your flight experience to get a rate that low. I was quoted $320.

Quote came directly off their online system. I did not talk to anybody.

I think most renter's / non-owned insurance is based on the policy limits you buy and not your flight experience.
