Looks like I got an opportunity to renew in a few months for basically nothing out of pocket. Not going to make me any money, but I'll be able to preach higher and mightier. Now I need to start telling everybody to follow the rules, lest I unknowingly influence someone under my wing to do improper things.:lol: And instead of guessing based on fuzzy recollection I suppose I'll need to read the rules once in awhile. Do people still buy those FAR/AIM books or just search from their phones? And how much professional courtesy do you get on a renewal ride?:wink2:

iPad. Nobody bothers with books anymore. As far as professional courtesy, they might fetch you a cup of coffee but I suspect they'll use the same PTS (in .pdf format, of course) as they would for any CFI candidate.
 
Umm yeah reinstatement. I let it expire. All the little details matter when you da teacher. :D
 
Part of the reinstatement is understanding the applicable regulations (Part61 for example) and understanding the Practical Test Standards for CFI.

Happens to be a table on page 22 as well as an explanation on page 17 on how to reinstate.
