Renew Basic Med.

Hi everyone.
If one had Basic Med and for some reason it was not renewed within the 4 years, basically expired for a few months, can it be renewed without going back to original expiration of 3rd class / 10 years?

As I understand it it really isn't a 10 year requirement. it was just 10 years prior when Basic med with introduced.
The rule actually reads from what i can tell.

• You must have held a valid medical certificate after July 14, 2006.

if that is true then you meet the medical certificate requirement. Which is the same requirement you need to get your basic med in the 1st place.

So short answer to your question I think you intended to as is. YES.

You do not need to go to a 3rd class because Basicmed expired. Just go back to your doctor.
