I posted recently about using a Clapper to start my engine heater. It worked and it didn't.
There is a switch called 'Security' or something like that that turns on the Clapper with just one noise impulse....its sort of a security feature...placing a cell phone near the Clapper it activated the feature, but it only stays on for 10 minutes. I used an external relay activated by the Clapper to switch 120V from the hangar system to the engine heater.
I gave up, and ordered a unit called Switch Box. It uses a cell phone or any other phone to call a number and that turns on the heater (or also a second heater if desired) You can turn on the unit via a phone call or using an Ipad you can also activate it.
I had coverage problems due to T-mobile coverage (or lack of it) but switched to AT&T and it works perfectly.
Customer service from Switch Box was outstanding.
