Anyone tell me what MDT means??

Thanks scott. for some reason, to ME, Moderate CU does not sound right. What is Moderate??? is is more than few?, more, or less than scattered?....................
color me confused.

I do know that "Q" is building all around, I can look out the window and see it.

Or it could be Harrisburg, PA :)

Hello,

New here. :) You are correct MDT in this case means moderate. In all METAR it would be used that way. Moderate CU is basically CU that is in between your "fair weather" CU and your towering CU. You can expect some light showers out of MDT CU and possible TCU in the area. If you see MDT CU in the late morning, early afternoon METARs, expect thunderstorms that night... usually. :)
