This looks like fun. Anyone ever been to one of these? It's coming to Austin on August 25th. I may just have to go see what's its all about. It's not really flying..but looks like it'd be hoot to watch anyway:

I went to the Austin Flugtag yesterday. It was a lot of fun...well, except for the dude who walked up next to me, and a half dozen kids standing around us, then thought it was a good time to light up a joint. But other than that...lot's of fun.

Some friends are trying to talk me into entering a team with them next year... call me crazy..but I'm just not too keen on strapping myself to a contraption that is likely to sink, and throwing myself off a 30' high ramp into a lake. Gotta say the skits were pretty funny though.

That's when it's interesting to wear a navy blue t-shirt that says "DEA" in bold, yellow letters... barely visible under a windbreaker. People act so funny at times when they see those!

Nah...it was much more fun to ask him politely to put it out...then when he said no, badge him and explain how I'd do it for him.... funny how he and his buds didn't stick around much after that. The people near us cheered. lol

Sigh. No matter where you stand on legalization etc. it just kills me when people feel they can light up in public with impunity.

OTOH watching the flugtag stoned is probably pretty cool

That might have been fun.

No, I just told him I was sick of smelling it, and if he didn't put it out, I'd ask one of my uniformed brothers to come over and escort him out with handcuffs, as I put the joint out for him. He got the point. Look on the guys face when he saw the badge was priceless..I thought he was going to swallow the joint.

That's just it.. I really don't give a rats rear end if the guy wants to smoke a joint...just don't do it standing next to me.. and not with all the little kids standing around. I can't stand the smell of that stuff.

There was a big burly guy behind me that was the father to most of the little ones..he was getting pretty peeved. The smoker should have thanked me for keeping him from getting his rear kicked by burly dad.
