Oct 2014 in Las Vegas! WooHoo!

At the motor speedway, a few miles from North Las Vegas airport, doubt they get permission to use Nellis AFB.

Glad to see it. There are some changes, standard engines and airframes. New gates that tear better when hit, and higher for pass through. From 65 feet moved to 80. Also removed the 270* turn because of the excessive g's pulled doing it. I hope it makes it financially, as I understand that was an issue as well. For me, just as I really got into it, they stopped airing them in a timely fashion and it ruined it.

Lost Wages! Here I come. I sincerely regret not going to NYC 2010 right on NY Harbor. Looks like they're using NASCAR venues in the US (Texas and Vegas). Kind of makes sense -- large open air grandstands designed and existing to hold spectators, and to sell hem stuff (beer, food, etc.). They can probably fit the course pylons within or around the track, and if they keep the infield clear (probably not much of a problem from a demand standpoint-- for now, one hopes) it should makes the FAA (waiver process and all) easier to deal with.

I wasn't going to miss that for anything! I got some amazing video from the grandstand and after the race was over, they flew the top three pilots back from Linden airport (KLDJ) to Liberty State Park to receive their trophies.

After they came down from the dais, they mingled with spectators, signing autographs and taking pictures. I got Paul Bonhomme's autograph and congratulated him while video taping him and others:yes:

The Redbull helicopter performed aerobatics before the race started! I got some good video.

I was pretty bummed when I heard that would be their last race.
Glad to see them back!!!
