At The Sacramento Executive Airport.

The Coldest Reading Was In Redding Where The Airport Low Temperature
Plunged To 23 Degrees Breaking The Previous Record Low Of 28 In 1956.

In Red Bluff, The Low Temperature Was 25 Which Took Out The Old
Record Low Of 27 Degrees On This Date In 1966.

At The Sacramento Executive Airport, The Low Temperature This
Morning Was 28 Which Broke The Previous Record Of 30 Degrees In 1944.

How can it be a record low if it only tied the old record low?:dunno:
 
Stay warm, you guys. I know 23 sounds like a heat wave to some of us (including me, since it's like...-23 right now not counting the wind chill) but when you're not used to it or prepared for it, it's just as bad. Keep your pipes warm. (and your house, too.)

COS overnight: -12.1F according to the thermometer on my wall. It's just now at +1.9F


You really gotta love apartments and cheapo forced air heating systems. There is no insulation whatsoever in the walls and the heater ran constantly all night. Inside temp at 0530 = 41F. Windows were frosted over...so was part of the outer walls. I'd trade this for enough snow to build a snow cave anyday.
 
We hit -14 last night at my house, far higher than the predicted -20 to -22 F and this morning it was already up to a balmy -11. Right now it's at +2 with a predicted high of +11. There was a chance of breaking a hundred year low record (-21) but I guess global warming killed that off.

No kidding. Those record low temps are almost shorts weather.:)

You guys are so predictable. I post some record temps and you say it's almost shorts weather. Then someone will say, what do you mean, almost? Then someone else will say he can't stand this kind of heat, he's moving to the artic for the year round T shirt weather. Someone else will come on and say they used to cook eggs on the sidewalk at the temps I posted. Where will it end? Never mind the NWS said it was a record temp.

I humbly apologize for stealing your thunder. You're right, record low temps in the 30's are impressive. I'm working on the farm today and am just in to grab a warm cup of coffee to melt the frozen snot off my beard, what do I know?
