Anyone in the NE US know of these folks? I have to do some trips to the area (a week in, a week out) for a couple of months.

Rates seem OK.....

Type ID Equipment Dry Rate Useful Load *Pay Load
Mooney 201 N97983 M20P / I $ 65 905 605
Grumman Tiger N4540L AA5 / A $ 40 915 693
Grumman Tiger N74079 AA5 / A $ 40 987 765
AGAC Tiger N911DK AG5B / G $ 52 904 682
Grumman Cheetah N26079 AA5 / A $ 35 814 592
Grumman Cheetah N26142 AA5 / A $ 35 796 574
American Traveler N1321R AA5 / A $ 38 826 604

* Pay Load excludes 50 gal. for Mooneys, 37 gal. for Grumman types

Seems like a way to get some low wing time.......

Just looking for input before I commit. PS - Not Affiliated.

Carney Aviation is pretty well-known in the Grumman community as a good place to rent a Grumman. I know one of their instructors (David Feinstein) pretty well, and he's a good one.

Yowza! seems like some awesome rates!!!!
Note that they are dry, not wet. Add 10.5 x $4.50 = 47.25 to the Tiger's $40 dry and it's $87.25 per hour for members. The $250/year membership fee is $20.83/month, added to the $120/month maint/ins charge, and your monthly base fee is $140.83. Fly the typical 6 hours a month or so most GA pilots fly, and that adds another 23.47/hour, for a total of $110.72 per hour for the Tiger -- a pretty average rate these days for a 4-seat 180HP airplane. Fly a lot, and the rate gets better; fly less, and the rate skyrockets.

I'm finding this info extremely useful since I'm looking to get my PPL very soon. Nice to see, on average, what it breaks down to.

Great Work 54. Things can repaired; lives can't be replaced. Your cool head and training saved the day.

Bravo Zulu!
