Really depressing

1 furlong = 660 ft
1 nautical mile = 2076 feet

furlong/nautical mile = 2076/660 = 3.145 furlong/nautical mile

1 fortnight is 14 days or 336 hours/fortnight

So for an average velocity of 135 knts we have:

(135 nautical miles/hour)*(3.145 furlongs/nautical mile)*(336 hours/fortnight) = 142,657 furlongs/fortnight

Impressive, no?

A nautical mile is 6076 feet.

He did it the hard way, with math. ;)

Google calc does furlongs per fortnight (as well as a bejillion other conversions).

It'll even do annoying stuff like this...

Currency conversions, flight schedules for airlines, yadda yadda... it's all here:

Cool. So I can say with honestly that I have flown 100 knots.

Which means I have also flown:

115 miles per hour

Mach 0.15

185 Kilometers Per Hour

309,329.516 furlongs per fortnight

185,199,840 Millimeters Per Hour

At this stage in my life, for me, the definition of "often" is "ever." :D

Is this the depressing part of the thread? :yikes:
My worst was 190 knots GS with 355 knots TAS in a Citation II going from Atlanta to Amarillo, 4 hours for 800 miles. :mad2:
Best in the Citation was 450 knots GS at 355 TAS from Utah to Oklahoma.
Got 270 GS in the 421 a couple years ago coming home from Houston. :D Not bad for 200 TAS. ;)
